Advanced Training
Solo Sport Pilot Training - Advanced Flight
Training: Cost
$150.00 per hour depending
on aircraft.
You will need to log a minimum of
5 hours of Sport Pilot Solo time before being checked out to train in unstable
conditions or wind over 10 mph. As a Sport Pilot Student, you must meet and
agree to the financial obligation of replacing or repairing the aircraft in the
event you do not return it in the condition you took it, before solo training.
Advanced
Sport Pilot Training and Ultralight Training
For those already comfortable with basic flight and hold a Sport Pilot
Certificate
pilot we offer advanced flight training. An Ultralight Pilot with membership in one of the three organizations (USUA, EAA, ASC)
can also sign up for advanced training after 20 hours of logged solo time. This can be as simple as familiarity with steeper turns, safe
low level flying, cross country navigation, advanced force landing procedures
from dead stick, and airport pattern and radio work to flying in adverse wind
and weather conditions (strong winds, thermals, strong cross winds) rotors over
close trees when landing, midday thermal soaring and how to spot and recognize
them from ground detail and in the air, recovery from unusual attitudes, short
field landings and take off and eventually close formation flying. For those of
you ready to begin advance flight training you will be shown a whole new level
of flight that will expand your enjoyment and ability levels to plateaus you
never knew existed.
Adding additional Sport Pilot
Category Endorsements
Once Sport Pilot gets sufficient time in the
air and has mastered their skills, you may wish to go on to get endorsements in
additional Sport Pilot categories. Skybound Sports Academy offers this training, but be warned, don’t come unless you are sure
your flying ability is unquestionable in your current category.
Our flight school
is not like many weekend warrior schools where you just fly around the sky for 5
hours and then expect to get additional categories endorsed in your logbook. Here you will work hard for it.
When completed you will a far better pilot than you ever imagined.
